Does the library Web site have timely and reliable information regarding the flu?
Yes, at this link, one can find the latest information from the EBSCO Publishing Medical and Nursing editors of DynaMed™, Nursing Reference Center™ (NRC) and Patient Education Reference Center™ (PERC)
Our government documents blog also links to even more reliable information regarding H1N1. To read the blog, first click on the Research tab, then select Government Documents. The link for information on the flu is currently listed under the News and Hot Topics heading.
Think you might have the flu? Medline Plus lists symptoms and health news to help you stay on top of things.
To find information on flu, including symptoms, prevention and treatment, go the Research tab at the top the library homepage and select “Find Articles and Databases”, select Alphabetical List of Databases, and scroll down to Medline Plus.
In the Medline Plus search field, enter the word ‘flu’ and hit ‘search’. Click on the first result from the National Library of Medicine. This will bring up a new page with an overview of the disease, and several headings. Under the category of Diagnosis/Symptoms, there is a link to page that will help you determine whether your symptoms indicate a cold or the flu.
