A hotline has been established for reporting state fraud or abuse in spending stimulus funds.

The public, state or federal employees can phone (877) 259-7337 to report suspected abuse or fraud.

Yesterday, June 12, was Flag Day. What is Flag Day? Flag Day was established to commemorate Jefferson’s resolution that gave birth to our Nation’s flag. For more history, visit the TCCL Govenment Documents Flag Day page.

Tomorrow – June 12 – is the day for the final digital television (DTV) transition; and the question begs "what will happen to all of those old analog televisions?".

Thanks to the digital converter box, some will continue to be used. (Still need a converter box coupon? Click here.)

Others will be replaced by a new television. DON’T throw the old one out, RECYCLE IT… for FREE! City of Tulsa residents can request 1 voucher per household for the free recycling of an old analog television. Residents have until June 25 to request a voucher by mail or until June 30 to pick one up in person.

Once you have your voucher, take your television to 1 of 3 area locations: Earth E Cycle, 3112B E Pine St or 4530 E Sheridan Rd, or Natural Evolution, 5719 E 13th St.

The City of Tulsa is currently accepting Opt-outs for local EMSA service. Currently City of Tulsa residents pay a $3.64 monthly fee for EMSA service. This fee, added to the monthly utility bill, covers the expense of ambulence service to family members or members of the household. Permanent residents of participating properties pay no out-of-pocket costs for EMSA emergency services. EMSA collects available insurance dollars but does not bill residents for deductibles, co-payments and other costs associated with emergency services.

What does opting out mean? The $3.64 fee will be removed from your monthly utility. If you require ambulence service at your residence, you will be charged all associated fees with the service (note: some insurance plans will cover the cost of emergency medical transport. Phone your insurance company to find out for sure). 

Want to opt out? Residents have until June 30 to choose to opt out of the EMSA Medical Service Program.

How do you opt out? Fill out the online form or phone the City of Tulsa Utilities Department (596-9511).

The state Department of Public Safety has now made it easier for you to remember when your driver’s license or identification card is set to expire – and with renewal necessary once every 4 years, it’s easy to forget. You can now sign up to receive an email notification alerting you to a nearing expiration date.
