Watchout for falling debris
The weather in Oklahoma is anything but predictible, and this weekend proved no different. Saturday and Sunday ushered in storms with heavy rain, fierce winds and in some cases hail. Along with the wind and rain came a shower of tree limbs and powerlines.
The City of Tulsa has already announced, beginning June 15, there will be a city wide pick up of fallen limbs and debris. The City asks that limbs be left curbside bundled in 4 foot bundles, weighing no more than 50 pounds. Or, if you prefer to do on your own, the City’s Greenwaste site is open everyday, except holidays, to accept your green waste. They also make available to you, free of charge, fire wood and wood chips for your garden.
As of this posting some 22,000 Tulsa residents are still without power. Fear not though, just as the power company set busy to work after the ice storm, they have done the same in response to the weekend’s mishaps. If you need to report an outage or have questions about your service, phone 888-218-3919.
