“Grantseeking Basics with Foundation Directory Online”
The Grantseeking Basics session will be led by Kief Schladweiler, Coordinator of Cooperating Collections with the Foundation Center (http://foundationcenter.org). The course will provide an overview of the funding research process for nonprofit organizations seeking grants from foundations, corporations, and grantmaking public charities. Mr. Schladweiler will offer tips on how best to identify funding sources for your organization, highlighting the electronic and print resources available for your free use at the Tulsa City-County Library, a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. The workshop will include a demonstration of the Foundation Directory Online, the Foundation Center’s top-tier searchable database providing information on more than 91,000 grantmakers and more than a million grant records.

Grant *Writing* Workshops in Your Community
The Foundation Center at TCCL provides workshops on grant seeking for nonprofits (next class, August 7, 1:30-3:30), which often leads to questions about grant writing. Though we don’t have any grant writing workshops planned at this time, there several other organizations in our community that offer such classes.
Following are a few upcoming opportunities. These are not presented in partnership with the Tulsa City County Library (therefore, please view this post as information, not an endorsement).

Grant Seeking Basics for Nonprofits Workshop in July
Does your nonprofit need new grant prospects?
Join us for the next Grant Seeking Basics for Nonprofits class and learn how to use library (i.e. free!) resources to find funding your nonprofit’s important projects. The workshop will be offered July 22, 1:30-3:30 p.m., in the Computer Training Room of the Central Library. Pre-registration is required.
This hands-on workshop provides nonprofit managers, employees and volunteers with the basic knowledge needed to seek grants. We will explore the Foundation Directory Online, the library’s database of foundations. The Foundation Directory allows you to save grant-maker profiles, so bring a USB drive or disc (you can purchase blank CDs at the library for $1).
Space is limited to 24 participants, so please register in advance! Call 596-7940 or email jgreb@tulsalibrary.org to sign up.
